The Pushkar Camel Fair in India

Each year, usually in October, over 10,000 camels come to Pushkar – to be sold.  Not only is it one of the most colourful outdoor markets in the world, it is also one of the most holy places for Hindus.  After the River Ganges, Pushkar is India’s most holy place to gather for holy bathing in Pushkar Lake.

And because Pushkar lies in the state of  Rajasthan, it is probably the most colourful place in India!!!

I have added some recent photos taken at the Pushkar Camel Fair….. I think you’ll be able to see just how colourful a festival / market it is!!!
